The Detail

Everything in the box.

A knee brace for dogs with cruciate ligament trouble, made from a breathable fabric so it can stay on through a normal day rather than only during short recovery sessions.

Who it suits

Dogs with a torn or weakened cruciate ligament, dogs limping on a back leg, and older dogs whose stifle joints have stiffened up. Also used through the weeks after surgery, where the point is to limit how much the joint twists while it heals.

What it does not do

A brace supports a joint, it does not repair a ligament. A torn cruciate is a diagnosis your vet makes, and the treatment plan is theirs. Where a brace helps is in the day to day, keeping the joint steadier while whatever plan you have agreed runs its course.

How it helps

  • Supports the stifle, the joint most people call the knee
  • Breathable fabric, made for longer wear
  • Adjustable straps for a firm but comfortable fit
  • Five sizes, small through double extra large

Getting the size right

Knee braces are the easiest product in our range to size wrongly, because the measurement is taken above and below a joint that moves. Our measuring guide shows where. Send us the numbers and we will check them.

Introduce it over a few short sessions, and check underneath for rubbing each time you take it off. If your dog chews at it constantly, it is usually a fit problem rather than a stubbornness problem, and we can help you work out which.

Sizing

Measure first, order second.

Measure on a hard floor with your dog standing and bearing weight. A dog measured sitting or held up measures short, and that single mistake causes more exchanges than everything else combined.

How to measure your dog
SizeLeg heightThigh circumference
S4.7 to 6.2 in5.5 to 7.4 in
M5.9 to 7.4 in6.2 to 8.6 in
L7 to 8.6 in7 to 10.6 in
XL8.4 to 10 in7.8 to 11.8 in

Measure the upper thigh with the leg straight, not bent. If your measurements fall between two sizes, order the smaller one for a supportive, non slip fit.

Between two sizes? Do not round on your own. Send us the numbers and we will tell you which way to go, because it depends on the product and on whether your dog is likely to gain or lose muscle. Five minutes on email beats a fortnight waiting on an exchange.
