The Detail

Everything in the box.

The most supportive knee brace in our range, built for dogs whose cruciate problem is the main event rather than a mild stiffness. It covers the stifle and the leg above and below it, so the joint has something to work against.

Who it suits

Dogs with a diagnosed cruciate tear, dogs managed without surgery, and dogs working through the weeks after an operation where the aim is to limit rotation in the joint. Also dogs who have already tried a soft wrap and needed more than it could give.

What it does not do

It does not repair a ligament and it is not an alternative to surgery where surgery has been advised. What it can do is make the non surgical route more comfortable, or protect the joint while a repair heals. Both of those are conversations for your vet, not for a product page.

How it helps

  • Structured support across the stifle rather than compression alone
  • Polyester construction with adjustable strapping
  • One price across all four sizes
  • Suits both conservative management and post operative periods

Getting the size right

This is the brace where sizing matters most, because a structured brace in the wrong size does more harm than a soft one. Measure with our measuring guide and send us the numbers. We check these ourselves before you order.

Build wearing time up slowly and check the skin underneath each time it comes off.

Sizing

Measure first, order second.

Measure on a hard floor with your dog standing and bearing weight. A dog measured sitting or held up measures short, and that single mistake causes more exchanges than everything else combined.

How to measure your dog
SizeThigh circumferenceLeg height
S4.7 to 8.8 in2 to 6.9 in
M7.2 to 10.2 in6.3 to 7 in
L10.3 to 13.2 in7 to 8.2 in
XL12.6 to 14.1 in8.2 to 9.4 in

Measure the circumference of the upper thigh with the leg straight. If between two sizes, choose the smaller.

Between two sizes? Do not round on your own. Send us the numbers and we will tell you which way to go, because it depends on the product and on whether your dog is likely to gain or lose muscle. Five minutes on email beats a fortnight waiting on an exchange.
