The Detail
Everything in the box.
A support brace that works across the chest and the back together, so the load is shared between the two rather than resting entirely on the spine. It is the more structured of our two back supports, and the one to look at if a simple vest has not been enough.
Who it suits
Dogs with back soreness or spinal stiffness who need more support than a light vest gives. Also dogs who need a brace on for longer stretches, where breathability and adjustment start to matter more than they do in short sessions.
What it does not do
It supports and stabilises. It does not treat disc disease, and it should not be used to keep a dog moving through pain. Sudden back trouble, wobbliness in the back legs, or a dog crying out when they move needs veterinary attention that day, not a brace.
How it helps
- Support shared across the chest and the back
- Adjustable at multiple points as swelling and comfort change
- Breathable, built for longer wear
- Reusable rather than a single use wrap
- Five sizes, small through double extra large
Getting the size right
Chest girth is the measurement that decides this one, and it is easy to take too loosely. Our measuring guide shows where the tape goes. Send us the numbers and we will check them before you order.
| Size | Chest | Length | Weight guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| S | 16.7 to 19.1 in | under 11 in | 9 to 20 lb |
| M | 20 to 23.9 in | 11 to 13.7 in | 21 to 31 lb |
| L | 23.2 to 27.4 in | 13.7 to 15.3 in | 33 to 61 lb |
| XL | 26 to 30.3 in | 15.3 to 18.1 in | 62 to 88 lb |
| XXL | 28.9 to 34.1 in | 18.1 to 20.8 in | 89 to 116 lb |
Chest girth decides the size. If a measurement falls between two sizes, order the larger.
Between two sizes? Do not round on your own. Send us the numbers and we will tell you which way to go, because it depends on the product and on whether your dog is likely to gain or lose muscle. Five minutes on email beats a fortnight waiting on an exchange.
Not sure it is the right one?
Send us your dog's measurements and a short description of how they are moving. We will tell you honestly what we would order, including when the answer is nothing yet.
