The Detail
Everything in the box.
A shoulder support that wraps the front leg and anchors across the chest. Shoulder injuries in dogs are easy to miss and slow to settle, because a dog cannot rest a front leg the way we would rest an arm.
Who it suits
Dogs with a shoulder strain, dogs limping on a front leg, and older dogs whose front end has stiffened. It is also used to limit how far the joint travels during the weeks after a soft tissue injury.
What it does not do
A front leg limp has a long list of possible causes and several of them are not the shoulder at all. Support the joint by all means, but get a diagnosis rather than assuming, because the wrong support on the wrong problem wastes weeks.
How it helps
- Wraps the shoulder and anchors across the chest
- Adjustable so the pressure can be set where you want it
- Water resistant, so wet weather is not a problem
- Three sizes, small through large
Getting the size right
Chest girth and leg measurement both matter here. Take both from our measuring guide and send them over. We will confirm before you order.
| Size | Neck | Chest | Leg length |
|---|---|---|---|
| S | 25 to 40 cm | 28 to 45 cm | 12 cm |
| M | 35 to 45 cm | 42 to 65 cm | 21 cm |
| L | 40 to 59 cm | 50 to 75 cm | 31 cm |
Chest girth is the measurement that decides the size. This manufacturer publishes in centimetres.
Between two sizes? Do not round on your own. Send us the numbers and we will tell you which way to go, because it depends on the product and on whether your dog is likely to gain or lose muscle. Five minutes on email beats a fortnight waiting on an exchange.
Not sure it is the right one?
Send us your dog's measurements and a short description of how they are moving. We will tell you honestly what we would order, including when the answer is nothing yet.
