The Detail

A simple breathable strap that goes under the hips and gives you a handle. It is the least expensive lift aid we carry and the easiest to keep by the back door, which for a lot of owners is exactly the point.
Who it suits
Older dogs and dogs with mild rear leg weakness who need a hand occasionally rather than constantly. It is a sensible first purchase when you are not yet sure how much help your dog is going to need.
What it is not
This is a strap, not a padded harness. For a heavy dog, or for lifting many times a day, the padding and adjustment on our fuller harnesses will be kinder to your dog and to your back. We would rather you bought the right one once.

Getting the size right
Measure rather than guessing from your dog's weight. Our measuring guide shows where.

Choose on waist girth, not weight. The manufacturer states this sling suits medium and large dogs and is not suitable for small dogs.
Between two sizes? Do not round on your own. Send us the numbers and we will tell you which way to go, because it depends on the product and on whether your dog is likely to gain or lose muscle. Five minutes on email beats a fortnight waiting on an exchange.
