The Detail
Everything in the box.
A slip on sleeve for the hock, the joint on the back leg that corresponds to a human ankle. It adds warmth and light compression, which is often all a stiff or slightly unstable hock needs to get through a walk more comfortably.
Who it suits
Dogs with hock stiffness, mild instability, or arthritis in the back legs. Also dogs who have knocked or grazed the joint and need it covered while it heals.
What it does not do
This is warmth and compression, not structural support. A dog whose hock collapses under them needs assessment, not a sleeve. If the joint is swollen, hot, or your dog will not put weight on it, that is a vet visit.
How it helps
- Light compression and warmth around the hock
- Polyester sleeve, thin enough to wear under nothing else
- Same price across all three sizes
- Simple to put on, with no straps to work out
Getting the size right
Sleeves need to be snug to do anything, so measure rather than estimate. Our measuring guide shows where to take the reading on a back leg.
| Size | Sleeve height | Width across top | Width across bottom |
|---|---|---|---|
| S | 8.5 cm | 8.5 cm | 7.5 cm |
| M | 10.5 cm | 11.5 cm | 9 cm |
| L | 12 cm | 13.5 cm | 11 cm |
These are the dimensions of the sleeve itself. Compare them against your dog's hock rather than choosing on weight.
Between two sizes? Do not round on your own. Send us the numbers and we will tell you which way to go, because it depends on the product and on whether your dog is likely to gain or lose muscle. Five minutes on email beats a fortnight waiting on an exchange.
Not sure it is the right one?
Send us your dog's measurements and a short description of how they are moving. We will tell you honestly what we would order, including when the answer is nothing yet.
