The Detail

A hip brace wraps the hip and upper thigh and applies gentle, even compression to the joint. For dogs whose hips are stiff, sore or unstable, that support can make the difference between a short walk and no walk at all.
Who it suits
Dogs with hip stiffness, hip dysplasia or age related joint soreness who are still walking but doing it carefully. It is also used during recovery periods, where the aim is to limit how far the joint travels while tissue settles.
What it does not do
A brace supports a joint. It does not repair one. If your dog is in pain, has stopped weight bearing, or has deteriorated quickly, that needs a vet rather than a brace, and a brace worn over an undiagnosed problem can hide something worth catching early.

Getting the size right
Hip braces are sized on girth measurements, and a brace that is too loose does nothing while one that is too tight will be rejected by your dog within minutes. Our measuring guide shows exactly where to measure. Send us your numbers and we will confirm the size.
Build up wearing time gradually rather than leaving it on all day from the start, and check the skin underneath for rubbing.
